Small winery

We consider that wine is part of the cultural imprint of a people, and for us, Velvet Winery, the wine is the imprint of the soil, grapes, viticulturist, winemaker – the terroir of Dealu Mare.
The wines are made with special emphasis on quality and typicity of the variety, created with great care and passion, under the direct guidance of one of the most appreciated wine maker in the country, Liviu Grigorică. Our portfolio contains both easy-to-drink wines, addressed especially to the young consumer, but also complex, full bodied wines for wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

Zaiafet White

Tasting note

An expressive wine, w ith aromas of citrus and wildflowers, with a fine and balanced acidity.

Appearance: Yellow-green
Nose: Aromas of white peaches, combined with shades of apricot and wildflowers.
Taste: Expressive wine with pleasant acidity, intense taste of well-ripened apricots with shades of citrus on the finish.

To serve

At 8 -10 °C, with fresh cheese, appetizers, salads or fish.

  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without stains of Glaze. Elevation 400 m.
  • Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, went through a process of destemming and left for cryomaceration in stainless steel tanks for 24 hours. The resulting must after draining and pressing was gravitationally clarified. The controlled fermentation took place at a temperature of 14-16˚C. After finalizing the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was stabilized, conditioned and bottled.

Zaiafet Rose

Tasting note

A refreshing and pleasant wine with aromas of berries, wrapped in citrus accents

Appearance: pink
Nose: Notes of berries, cherries and spices
Taste: Intense fruity taste is dominated by good acidity.

To serve

At 8 -10 ° C, with salads, appetizers, fish or chicken dishes.

  • Vol. Alc.: 13,5%

  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without stains of Glaze. Elevation 400 m.
  • Vinification: It was used only must from the first press, after about half an hour of maceration. The controlled fermentation took place at a temperature of 12-14˚C. After finalizing the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was stabilized, conditioned and bottled.

Zaiafet Red

Tasting note

The aromas of plums and cherries combined with moderate acidity and fine tannins well integrated into an elegant structure, makes a balanced wine, pleasant and easy to understand.

Appearance: Ruby red
Nose: Fresh aromas of berries, blackcurrants, cherries and spices.
Taste: Balanced, pleasant, fine tannins well integrated.

To serve

At 14 -16 ºC, along with beef or pork dishes and matured cheese.

  • Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, went through a process of destemming and left to macerate at low temperature (about 6˚C) in stainless steel tanks for 48 hours, followed by fermentation process for about a week. After finalizing the malolactic fermentation, the wine was stabilized, conditioned and bottled.

La Tiganci Feteasca Regala

Tasting notes

A well-structured wine, with expressive and complex nose, fresh taste with an invigorating and tasty finish.

Appearance: : Straw yellow, with greenish reflections.
Nose: Complex, with aromas of wildflowers and vanilla, associated with a slight hint of orange blossoms.
Taste: A well-structured wine, with a relatively strong body, well balanced by moderate acidity and long finish.

To serve

At 7-9ºC, with white meat, fish, light cheese, salads

La Tiganci Rose

Tasting notes

A complex, long, well-structured rose, with a long aftertaste dominated by slightly spicy shades.

Appearance: salmon pink
Nose: Predominant aromas of cranberries accompanied by a hint of cocoa.
Taste: Balanced, complex, persistent, long finish for a rose.

To serve

At 6-8º C, with spicy dishes of turkey or beef, salmon or grilled octopus.

  • Vol. Alc.: 13.5%
  • Production area: Dealu Mare - Tohani
  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without stains of Glaze. Elevation 400 m.
  • Vinification: For the rose, was used only must from the first press, after about an hour of maceration. The must was cleared gravitationally, at low temperature. The controlled fermentation took place at a temperature of about 16˚C. A small part the rose was aged in French oak barrels for 6 months. After the final blending, the wine was stabilized, conditioned and bottled.

La Tiganci Feteasca Neagra

Tasting note

Appearance: Intense ruby
Nose: Primary aromas of plums, cherries, blueberries and blackcurrants, combined with subtle notes of chocolate and spices
Taste: Full-bodied, balanced, elegant structure, well-integrated tannins, with a finish of dark chocolate, sour cherry and vanilla

To serve

At 15 -17 ºC, along with beef or pork dishes, spicy sausages and matured cheese.

  • Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, went
    through a process of destemming and left to macerate at low temperature (about 6˚C) in stainless steel tanks for 48 hours, followed by fermentation process for about 10 days. Aged
    for 6 months in French oak barrels at first and second use.

Wine Deco Chardonnay

Tasting notes

A Chardonnay characterized by elegance and complexity, in which exotic flavors are complemented by the creamy-vanilla flavor of French oak. The finish is intense and citrusy, keeping a long feeling of freshness.

Appearance: Greenish yellow.
Nose: Intense notes of tropical and citrus fruits, surrounded by a hint of vanilla and butter
Taste: A full-bodied, complex wine, well balanced by a pleasant acidity.

To serve

At 10-12 ° C, along with turkey or duck meat, fish or seafood.

  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without stains of Glaze. Elevation 400 m.
  • Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, peeled and left to cryomacerate in stainless steel tanks for 48 hours. The resulting must after drain-pressing was gravitationally clarified. The controlled fermentation took place at a temperature of 16-18˚C. After perfecting the alcoholic fermentation, the wine was kept on a fine sediment, in French oak barrels, for 9 months, for an extra complexity and aromatic extraction.

Wine Deco Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting notes

Aromas of chocolate and redcurrant jam together with strong well-ripened tannins, which support a well-balanced structure of moderate acidity make a complex wine with great aging potential.

Appearance: Dark ruby.
Nose: Intense aromas of dark chocolate, black cherries, currant jam, spices.
Taste:Balanced, pleasant, strong, ripe tannins, well integrated into a complex structure.

To serve

At 14 -16 ºC, with beef or pork dishes, spicy sausages and aged cheeses.

  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without Gleizare spots. Elevation 400 m.
  • Vinification: The grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and left for maceration-fermentation for 21 days in stainless steel tanks. After perfecting the malolactic fermentation, the wine was matured in French oak barrels for about 18 months, then it was stabilized, conditioned and bottled

Triptic

Tasting note

A round and perfectly balanced wine, with a complex bouquet of white fruits, supported by a spicy shade of vanilla at the end. The moderate acidity of the wine and the pleasant minerality brings a special joviality.

Color: Straw yellow
Nose: Rich and complex bouquet, with notes of peach jam or white cherries spiced with red pepper.
Taste: The taste is generous, round, pleasant acidity, long finish.

To serve

At 8-10 ° C, with fish or poultry dishes, associated with spicy sauces.

  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without stains of Glaze. Elevation 400 meters.
  • Vinification: For all three grape varieties, was used only must from first press, gravitationally clarified at low temperature and fermented at a controlled temperature of 14-16 ° C. Feteasca Regala was aged in new French oak barrels for 9 months

Cabaret

Tasting note

A sweet, elegant and pleasant wine, with an aromatic construction dominated by acacia flowers, linden honey or candied bananas.

Appearance: straw yellow
Nose: Intense aromas of acacia flowers, basil, bananas, beeswax and lime honey.
Taste: The late harvest generated a wine with relatively high acidity but perfectly balanced by the rest of the sugar. The finish is dominated by the intense shade of lime blossom honey.

To serve

At 8-10ºC, with foie gras, tarts or other sweet pastries.

  • Wine type: White, sweet, DOC-CMD, Dealu Mare
  • Vol. Alc.: 12%
  • Production area: Dealu Mare Vineyard - Tohani
  • Area: Piedmont area, calcareous, with southern exposure. Soil not compacted in depth, without stains of Glaze. Elevation 400 m.
  • Vinification: The grapes of each variety were harvested by hand, went through a process of destemming and left to cryomacerate in stainless steel tanks for 48 hours in the case of Chardonnay and for 72 hours in the case of Tamaioasa Romaneasca and Muscat Ottonel. The resulting must was gravitationally clarified. After finalizing the alcoholic fermentation, the Chardonnay wine was kept on a fine sediment, in French oak barrels, for about 6 months. Alcoholic fermentation in Muscat Ottonel and Tamaioasa Romaneasca wines was discontinued to preserve the desired amount of unfermented sugars. After the final blending, the wine was stabilized, conditioned and bottled.
